However, due to the rare flora and fauna, visitors should always stay on the designated paths in this nature reserve. Important: As the coastal strip is not secured everywhere, families with children in particular should be especially careful. We also recommend taking a baby carriage with you, as the paths are sometimes steep and strenuous. But the walk is really worth it, as you are rewarded with a wonderful view of the Baltic Sea. Whether it's a walk along the sandy beach or a hike along the coast, the Hermannshöhe Experience Café is an absolutely worthwhile destination and a very beautiful place to end the day.

For us, a visit to Ahoi is an absolute must after a successful day at the beach. Children are warmly welcomed here and made happy with a coloring pad, pencils and popcorn. And, dogs are also allowed here.
Special features: Reservations in advance are highly recommended, as the restaurant is very popular, especially in the warmer months.
Parking: There is a parking lot on Ostseestraße just a 4-minute walk from the restaurant. You can then reach the "Strandallee" promenade via Badeweg or Fischerstieg. From there you can already see the restaurant with its traffic circle. Length of the path approx. 300-350m.

It pays to be quick, because the rule is: only while stocks last. All those who like to eat fresh fish will get their money's worth here!
The weekly market - the second largest market in Schleswig-Holstein
Moin is the greeting on the second largest marketplace in Schleswig-Holstein.
For over 130 years and in all four seasons, you can buy delicacies and souvenirs from the region here in the heart of the port city. The Neustadt weekly market takes place every Tuesday and Friday from 08:00 to 13:00 and should definitely be a destination on your vacation.
Art and harbor - why Neustadt in Holstein is so beautiful
A leisurely stroll through the town offers you a picturesque backdrop with views of the old town houses, the medieval brick church or the neoclassical town hall. Another architectural highlight is the Kremper Tor. It is the last of the town's original three city gates.
On the way to the harbor, you can then discover the 20 contemporary works of art on the "Jungfernstieg" promenade, which are positioned along the so-called "art kilometer" to the beach. Finally, you can stop off at one of the cozy cafés and restaurants to round off the day.
